This hard enamel pin features a Northern Spotted Owl, which is one of Canada's most endangered species. Only about 30 individuals remain in Canada, all in Southwestern BC. This beautiful owl relies on old growth forest for survival, so their primary threat is habitat loss and fragmentation.

Luckily, this species still exists elsewhere outside of Canada, so there is hope for recovery. They are however also listed as Vulnerable internationally, according to the IUCN.
